Hosting via Cloudflare

Unhyped is delivered via Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). To deliver the site and protect it from attacks, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data, in particular your IP address, the date and time of the request and browser information.

• Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is delivering the website securely and quickly.
• We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare.
• For transfers to the USA, we rely on Cloudflare’s certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and on standard contractual clauses.

Determining your region

So that we only show providers allowed in your country, the page asks which country you are visiting from when it loads. Cloudflare derives the country from your IP address. We receive only the country code (for example “DE”) and don’t store it.

• Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is not showing you offers that aren’t permitted in your country.

Setting stored in your browser

If you switch the region yourself (EU or Global), we remember your choice in your browser’s local storage (localStorage, key unhyped-region). This is not a cookie, and the information never leaves your browser. We only store it because you explicitly made that choice (Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive, § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

Analytics

We currently don’t measure visitor numbers. If we introduce analytics, we’ll use a solution without cookies or profiling and update this policy beforehand.

Affiliate links to providers

When you click an affiliate link, you leave Unhyped and go to the provider’s site, where its privacy policy applies. The provider may set cookies there to attribute the referral to us. We don’t pass on any of your personal data and only receive aggregated statements from the provider.

News page

The headlines on our news page are fetched by our server from the respective sources, such as central banks, regulators and news sites. Your browser only connects to us, so your IP address is not passed on to the sources. Only when you click a news item do you go to the source’s website, where its privacy policy applies.

Contacting us by email

If you write to us, we process your message and address to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We delete the message once it’s resolved and no retention obligation applies.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Art. 15–20 GDPR). You can object at any time to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Just send us an email.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, for example the one where you live (Art. 77 GDPR).

Changes

We update this policy when our website changes, for example when we launch a newsletter. The version published here applies.
